The year kicked off with Anderson the Strath Bear celebrating the Chinese New Year with his new friend at our Confucius Institute for Scotland's Schools.

More celebrations in February as Strathclyders formed part of the men's curling team that won gold for Great Britain at the 2017 Almaty Winter Universiade.

In March, we shared a special International Women's Day message from our award-winning professor Eva Hevia. Eva is a professor in Pure & Applied Chemistry.

Sir Billy Connolly fever gripped Strathclyde in June, as the 'Big Yin' came to visit us to accept an honorary degree awarded for his contribution to society.
