Although Christmas will be a lot different for everyone this year, there's still plenty going on around the University and Glasgow. Lots of celebrations and events will take place online.

We know that Christmas can also be a difficult time of year for many people, with this year offering more challenges. Find out more below about events that are taking place during the holidays as well as support services we'll be offering.

Strath Union

Check out the Strath Union Festive Calendar, running from 1 December through to 11 January for hand-picked deals, events and surprises each day.

They've also curated a series of events for those in Halls who are staying over the Festive Season, called Deck the Halls.

International Support Team

We’ll be running our International Café over the holidays as well as two other events with our friend Gary from The Keltic Ginger.

Bookings for these events open at 9am on Monday 21 December; so set a reminder so you don’t miss out on a place. Zoom details will be sent out to attendees 20 minutes before each event.

Glasgow Accent Zoom Presentation: Useful Words, Phrases & Sayings

Glasgow Buchanan Street

23 December – 6pm-8pm

This new presentation will take you on a journey with the Glasgow Accent. Even if you've joined us before you can join again. This will include new content and fun words and phrases. We'll recommend some videos to watch at the end for you to hone your skills. Don't worry if you've not understood anything so far in Glasgow, after this you should understand a lot more.

Virtual Tour of Scotland: North Coast 500 & more

30 December – 6pm-8pm

Join us on a Zoom presentation around Northern Scotland. We'll take you on a journey from Glasgow, up through Inverness and Culloden and towards the north coast. We'll see beaches, ruins, waterfalls and caves. You'll hear stories from your guide Gary and his adventures in these hard to reach parts of the country. You might not be able to go there yourself just now, but we'll take you there this holiday season.
