Continuous Professional Development

The NMIS Continuous Professional Development portfolio, part of the NMIS Manufacturing Skills Academy, has been designed to raise awareness of the opportunities that the digital transformation of manufacturing can create for SMEs and to help boost the productivity of the Scottish manufacturing sector.

The NMIS CPD portfolio of courses in Manufacturing Technology and Leadership is delivered by the Scottish Research Partnership in Engineering and builds on and complements the support provided by the Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service through its Manufacturing 4.0 Review.

What courses are being offered?

The programme has been structured in three stages differing in levels of technical detail to equip your organisation with the necessary skills to successfully manage the digital transformation, from Executive and Business Leaders to Technical Managers and implementation teams.

The courses offered within the portfolio are designed specifically to equip your organisation with the necessary awareness, insights and skills to take advantage of the opportunities presented by the digital transformation and support you in their adoption and implementation within your organisation

Digital Transformation Leadership - Awareness

Designed to create awareness of fundamental digital manufacturing concepts and the requirements to successfully navigate through the digital transformation process. These courses are suitable for Executive and Business Leaders interested in developing a vision and strategy for digital transformation within their organisations.

Designed to inform and guide the digital transformation process, each course focuses on one of the following key digital transformation areas: Operations, Logistics, Data, Infrastructure and Economic considerations. Who should attend?

The NMIS CPD Portfolio is primarily aimed at Executive Leaders, Business / Transformation Leaders, Technical Leaders and their Implementation Teams interested in achieving growth through digital transformation. The programme is aimed at all manufacturing sectors. Emphasis is placed on small and medium companies. However, larger organisations are likely to also find the content of the modules beneficial.

When do the courses start?

The first course to start is Understanding the Digital Manufacturing Landscape course which starts on the 23rd of September and is now open for registration.
