What made you take the programme? Why did you choose Strathclyde?

It was definitely an easy decision when it came to selecting Strathclyde Business School! The University’s numerous prestigious awards and accreditations, as well as its reputation for being the ‘Business school of the Year’ (THE Awards 2016), made it stand out. The opportunity to study abroad for a semester, as well as the chance to gain relevant work experience and practical skills through internships and industry opportunities offered by the University, further solidified my choice. Strathclyde’s excellent opportunities and reputation made it clear that this was the right place for me to continue my education, and I am proud to be a student here.

What has been your experience of the classes?

Strathclyde Business School provided me with a diverse range of classes, including Economics, Hospitality and Tourism, Marketing, Languages, Business and Technology, and many more, that allowed me to gain a comprehensive understanding of the business world. The classes covered a remarkable amount of content that provided me with the knowledge to understand each and every aspect of business while acquiring transferable skills that I could apply when working with real businesses. As I progressed through my degree, I was able to focus on my specific interests within International Business and Business Enterprise. All the staff at Strathclyde were always friendly, welcoming, and ready to offer advice and assistance with any questions I had. During my degree, I had opportunities to work with real-life companies and build valuable professional networks with various companies and entrepreneurs in Glasgow, which provided me with both academic and practical experience that will definitely be valuable for future career opportunities. Everyone at Strathclyde made my experience extremely enjoyable and one I won’t forget it!

How does the course fit into your longer aspirations for study/career in the future?

Earning a degree in International Business and Business Enterprise has provided me with a wide range of opportunities for both further study and employment. After I graduated in June 2022, I chose to return to Strathclyde Business School and pursue a postgraduate research degree with the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship. I am currently completing a Masters of Research, with plans to continue on to a PhD. In my final year, I found the dissertation process to be incredibly enjoyable and knew it was something I wanted to continue researching. The diverse skills I gained at Strathclyde have also presented me with excellent employment opportunities.
