Welcome to the Faculty of Science. With almost 3000 students and over £20m of external research grant income, we provide a high quality learning and research environment that is attractive both nationally and internationally.

Facilities are excellent, with well-equipped, modern laboratories and teaching rooms, plus 24-hour access to an advanced computer information network and a sophisticated virtual e-learning environment designed to meet the needs of our students.

Most of our degree courses are accredited by professional bodies. This and our reputation ensure excellent employment opportunities for our graduates. The list of undergraduate and postgraduate courses is constantly being updated, so please check Courses for current information.

A strong research base underpins our teaching and the many links with industry, the NHS and international partners ensure that our students have the opportunity to work on placements, locally or abroad, to gain work or research experience. Our research and associated knowledge exchange contributes to the nation's industrial and commercial base supporting the University's mission to be 'The place of useful learning'.

External assessments of teaching quality by the Scottish Funding Council and the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education ensure that excellent standards are maintained. Strathclyde was reviewed in 2005 and given the highest rating. This built on earlier subject-based reviews in the Faculty which found all areas to be either 'Excellent' or 'Highly Satisfactory'.

These are just a few reasons that make Strathclyde the ideal location to begin and continue your career.
