Victoria Banke 

Olagbegi-Oloba Victoria Banke is a lawyer called to the Nigerian Bar, an International Associate of the American Bar Association, and active member of the International Bar Association. She is a Researcher, Law Lecturer, Mediator and Arbitrator. She currently lectures at the Faculty of Law, Department of Jurisprudence and International Law, Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State Nigeria. Banke is a 2022 Weinstein JAMS International Fellow, and a Senior Fellow, Weinstein International Foundation (WIF). She is also a Governing Council member of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliators (ICMC), Nigeria. She is the pioneer chair, and currently serves as the chair, ICMC Akure, Ondo State Branch in Nigeria. She is a Fellow and Faculty of ICMC. She is also a Member and Faculty of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators (NICARB). She facilitates professional peacebuilding (including environmental peacebuilding), negotiation, conciliation, mediation, and arbitration trainings in Nigeria as a faculty of ICMC and NICARB respectfully. She has trained close to 2000 students, professionals, traditional rulers/community leaders and religious leaders in ADR/peacebuilding skills in Nigeria. She has handled several high-profile negotiation, arbitration, and mediation cases. She is a Member, Panel of Neutrals, Ondo State Multi-Door Courthouse where she resolves high profile cases through negotiation, arbitration, or mediation. As an academic, Banke teaches ADR to undergraduate law students and clinicians. She conducts research on ADR and publishes findings in reputable peer reviewed journals. She has published articles in several local and international journals. She has attended, facilitated, and presented in several local and international conferences. Her research/practice areas include Arbitration, Mediation, Peacebuilding, International Human Rights Law (with special focus on Women & Children’s Rights, International Refugee Law, Statelessness and Asylum issues), Diversity & Gender issues, Rule of Law, Access to Justice and Contracts amongst others.
