Criminal Justice Student Short-Listed for Major Prize
One of the Law School’s Criminal Justice Master’s students has been short-listed for a coveted UK award for the quality of his dissertation.
David Cross, a student on the Criminal Justice & Penal Change LLM / MSc programme, has been short-listed for the Howard League’s UK wide John Sunley prize.
The John Sunley Prize “celebrates excellence and impact of post graduate research into penal issues.” “
David’s dissertation examines the value of a human rights approach to supervising offenders in the community and in supporting desistance from crime.
Commenting on the nomination, David, a Criminal Justice Social Work Manager, said:
“I’m delighted that my work has been nominated for this prestigious award. I thoroughly enjoyed undertaking the Criminal Justice Masters which was both stimulating and relevant to real world policy and practice. I also appreciated working with and having my assumptions challenged by students from different countries and professions.”
