Lords Jones Mooting Competition 2017

Congratulations to James Callender and Darren Harty on winning the Lord Jones Mooting Competition (formerly the Inter-Varsity Competition). The competition took place at Dundee University on Saturday 25^th February at the University of Dundee. Strathclyde Mooting Society fielded two teams (including Jenna McKinley and Eilish McGregor), all of whom spent an arduous morning making submissions for both the respondent, and appellant, in a vicarious liability case.

Darren and James made it through to the semi-finals as top seeded team and were drawn against Dundee in a close round judged by Sheriff Drummond. They then faced Aberdeen in a superb final judged by Lord Kinclaven. Lord Jones family were present to watch the final and the trophy was presented by Fiona Jones, who remarked on the high standard of advocacy on display.
