Tribute to Susie Balderston

Susie Balderston, a Research Fellow at Strathclyde Law School, passed away peacefully at the end of 2023 after a short illness.

Susie was a lovely colleague and a very kind person. She dedicated her career to protecting some of the most vulnerable people in society, particularly disabled people, prisoners, victims of serious offences, and sex workers. Before joining Strathclyde Law School, Susie worked in public policy research at the Universities of Birmingham and Lancaster, and in the charity sector, having graduated her PhD in hate crime prevention at the University of Lancaster and her MSc in equality and discrimination at the University of Strathclyde. She is greatly missed by colleagues and friends across the University of Strathclyde and beyond.
