The Kilbrandon LecturesUpcoming Lecture

Resisting the Marginalisation, Regulation and Criminalisation of Children and Young People

In the 21st Kilbrandon Lecture Professor Scraton will consider the continued regulation and criminalisation of children and young people, particularly those defined as ‘troublesome’. He will call for policies and practices which contest negative assumptions and stereotypes of childhood and address socio-economic inequalities. His critique prioritises the lived experiences and views of children and young people and envisages hope through opportunity.
