Getting inScience and Engineering

Science

Are you interested in Science? Our STEM Summer School provides a pathway to anyone coming from schools who may have missed the entry requirements in maths, chemistry or physics. If you attend the Summer School you will be able to obtain the grade you need to enter into the course of interest. Priority is given to those of you who come from schools in the FOCUS West programme, as well as care leavers and those where attendance at Summer School is a condition of your UCAS offer.

Any S6 student attending a FOCUS West school is entitled to participate in Summer School. S5 pupils may also be accepted depending on capacity. Applicants to the University of Strathclyde who are residents in MD20 or MD40 postcode areas according to the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation (SIMD) may also be considered.

There are very good reasons to sign up for our STEM Summer School but don't take our word for it. Listen to what our students have to say after attending the 2016 Summer School.

Engineering

Are you interested in engineering? The Engineering Academy is a collaboration between the University, partner colleges and industry which provides a pathway to BEng or MEng programmes in an engineering discipline. The Academy commenced in August 2013. To find out more, read our full information on the Engineering Academy.
