FAQ's

The Strath Voice - Undergraduate survey is an internal survey aimed at all undergraduates not included in the NSS. Final year undergraduates at Strathclyde have the chance to participate in the National Student Survey (NSS) to provide feedback on their experience. We think that all of our undergraduate students should have a chance to get their voices heard regardless of the year they’re in. The Strath Voice - Undergraduate survey asks students to provide their views on their university experience and should take around 5 to 10 minutes to complete. The results of the survey will be disseminated across the institution in aggregated format, to allow informed decisions to be made in areas that will improve the student experience.

The Strath Voice - Undergraduate survey is an opportunity for you to feedback on your experiences in relation to support, skills, resources and belonging among others. You will also have the chance to leave some comments in your own words.

This is your chance to tell us your thoughts about your course and about studying at Strathclyde: what you particularly like and what you think could be improved upon. The results of the survey are used across the University to provide valuable information on the student experience and help inform change.

Additionally, to thank you for taking part, we’re running a prize draw for respondents! Respondents could win a £300 online voucher of their choice!

Your feedback is important. We will use the findings of the survey to improve our courses and learning experiences for students at Strathclyde. To see details of some of the changes we’ve been making, to which student feedback has contributed, please visit You said we did.

Your responses will be treated confidentially within the University, only the Student Survey team will have access to individual responses. The results from the survey will be presented in the form of aggregate statistical summaries at department/School level and course, where the number of respondents exceeds our publication threshold. Individuals should not be identifiable from their responses in any data disseminated from the Student Survey Team. Any free text comments from respondents which allow an individual to be identified will be redacted or removed prior to presentation. Please refer to the University's Privacy Notices for more information.

You will have the option to enter the prize draw through a tick box within the survey. Once the survey closes, a random number generator will be used to identify the winner within 2 weeks of the survey end. Note that members of the Student Survey Team and their immediate family are not eligible for the prize draw. The winning student will then be contacted via email and asked to identify the online retailer they'd like their voucher to be for (please note that no cash alternative will be given). The Student Survey Team will then send the voucher to the winner! Winners will be announced online (subject to winners consent). More information can be on the Prize Draw Terms and Conditions

An invitation to participate in the survey will be sent to your Strathclyde email address once the survey launches, with additional reminders being sent to non-respondents until the survey closes. These will contain your unique link to the survey which should take around 5 to 10 minutes to complete. The survey can also be accessed by eligible students via Myplace.

If you’re unsure about anything to do with the survey, or have any difficulty in accessing or completing it, please get in touch with the Student Survey Team. You can opt out of the survey anytime by using the opt-out link at the end of each invitation and reminder email or you can email the Student Survey Team (student-surveys@strath.ac.uk) with your name, including ‘Strath Voice-undergraduates survey opt out’ in the text.
