AFRC announces new partnership with TMS CADCentre

The University of Strathclyde’s Advanced Forming Research Centre (AFRC) is delighted to announce its new tier two membership with TMS CADCentre, a leading provider of computer aided design (CAD) solutions in Scotland.

The company, a division of TMS Scotland, works with industry leading design and manufacturing organisations and has a large portfolio of customers in the oil, gas, medical and automotive sectors.

This new partnership will allow the AFRC to showcase TMS CADCentre’s design and manufacturing services to its tier one and tier two member partners and industry.

In return, the company will provide the AFRC with SOLIDWORKS 3D CAD modelling software training and consultancy support for the centre’s CAD related research.

Alex Lowe, managing director of TMS CADCentre said:

This is an exciting new venture for both parties. Working in partnership with the AFRC will allow us to strengthen our knowledge and add to our capabilities at TMS CADCentre.  In turn, the AFRC will receive the benefits our unique software package has to offer and this can be passed on to industry and its tier one and tier two members.”

Dr. Alaster McDonach, knowledge exchange fellow at the AFRC said:

At the AFRC, our priority is developing high quality and innovative technologies. Bringing on board new members such as TMS CADCentre, which is a leader in its field, will help us build upon our world-class reputation in manufacturing research.”
