Nicholas Puschman

Nicholas Puschman is an Associate at Bird & Bird LLP, based in London. His practice focuses on the technology and communications sectors, and his experience includes advising on commercial contracts, UK and EU telecoms law, satellite regulation and space law. Nicholas has worked with both commercial and government clients in the space sector, and he was recently seconded to the legal department of a global satellite operator.

Previously, Nicholas spent two years in the legal department of the European Space Agency (ESA) in Paris, working predominantly on international law matters. Nicholas was part of ESA’s delegation to the United Nations and, during his two years in Paris, he served as Executive Secretary of the European Centre for Space Law (ECSL). Prior to ESA, Nicholas worked as a Research Associate at the Institute of Space and Telecommunications Law (IDEST) and was a Teaching Fellow at the University of Burgundy in France.

Nicholas regularly participates in space and telecoms industry conferences and has been published on the topics of international law, telecoms regulation and space law. Nicholas is actively involved in space associations outside of work and was elected to the Board of the ECSL in 2019.
