Health systemsCOVID-19 vaccine delivery barriers

Many groups are currently working towards developing a Covid-19 vaccine, and the global community will need to be ready to deliver such a vaccine to very large populations efficiently.

The availability of a vaccine is not the end-point for controlling the Covid-19 pandemic. Low and middle-income countries, in particular, already suffer from challenges in delivering vaccines as part of their immunisation programmes and/or in campaigns, and the scale and characteristics of immunisation with a Covid-19 vaccine differs from the typical delivery of vaccines.

Our project aims to identify and gain an understanding of the barriers to Covid-19 immunisation in low and middle-income country settings.

We are exploring two case study countries, where we are holding interviews with stakeholders for vaccine delivery.
