Education Enhancement – brings together Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL), Learning Enhancement & Quality Assurance to enable the continuous development and improvement of learning and teaching at Strathclyde.

The team is responsible for: 

Education Strategy which forms part of the University's Strategic Plan 2015 - 2020

Technology Enhanced Learning to help deliver a high-quality and distinctive curriculum and student experience through innovation in teaching and learning.

Quality assurance to provide guidance on the Quality Framework and Enhancement-led Institutional Reviews.

Student Surveys to support the suite of external and internal surveys run by the University to listen to and act on student feedback.

Supporting the work of Senate, including Senate Business Committee, Senate Appeals Committee and Senate Discipline Committee.

Development and Training

The Learning Enhancement team provides training courses in the use of learning technology and in particular Myplace. 

Current provision includes:

  • Getting started with Myplace: an introduction to setting up a course using Myplace, and gives an overview of commonly used tools and features. Book here 

  • Myplace Upgrade Workshops: presents a summary of the new features available in Myplace following recent Myplace upgrade.Following the presentation and questions participants will have the opportunity to work on their own classes with support. 

  • Teaching and Learning Online (TALON): an opportunity for teaching staff to experience being an online student while at the same time exploring the implications and opportunities of teaching and learning in Myplace.

  • 'How To.....' Sessions: designed to provide staff with practical input on a specific teaching / learning matter focusing on using online and blended approaches ('How to' and 'Quick Step' sessions are offered in partnership with OSDU).
