Mr Iain Small

Personal statement

Iain Small holds the position of Faculty IT Manager within the Strathclyde Business School.

An honours computing graduate of Edinburgh Napier University, Iain started his career in the original "PC developments" team at the Royal Bank of Scotland. In 1994 he joined the "Networked Client Services" team at the telecommunications company "Kingston Communications" in Hull, co-writing their first PC based customer service application. In 1998 he took on the role of IT Manager at Kingston Business Communications, managing an IT team supporting the business communications arm of the company.

In 2002 Iain joined Strathclyde, taking up the role of IT Manager in what was then the "Graduate School of Business". Bringing a broad knowledge of Microsoft workstation and server products, his team went on to setup a stable, modern, Web & IT infrastructure within the School for staff and students alike.

In 2009 he attained the role of Faculty IT Manager, to bring a co-ordinated approach for IT, support, Web and best IT practice across the Business School.

His computing interests include all things Microsoft, IT support, ITL, IT in Education and gadget related.
