Postgraduate taughtHow to apply

Applications for most of our postgraduate taught programmes can be made online. Each course page has an apply button for you to start your application.

If you’re applying for postgraduate teacher training courses, such as the PGDE, you must apply through the UCAS undergraduate website.

International students

International students who have not met the direct academic entry requirements for a postgraduate course have the option of studying a Pre-Masters Programme at the University of Strathclyde International Study Centre. Upon successful completion, students can then progress to study a Masters degree at the University of Strathclyde.

If you do not meet the language conditions for your main pathway programme, there is an option to study an English language course to raise your IELTS to the required level.

Postgraduate application process

It's really easy to make your application in just a few simple steps!

  • choose your course – search our postgraduate taught courses
  • check the entry requirements on the course page
  • click 'Apply' on the course page to access the applicant portal Pegasus
  • complete your application and upload your documents - remember to submit!

Once you’ve submitted your application, you’ll receive an acknowledgement email containing your applicant number. Keep a note of this as if you need to contact us it would be helpful to quote your applicant number.

Your application will be considered by the Department/School you have applied to. If they need more information from you they will contact you by email. You can also keep track of progress by regularly logging in to your applicant portal on Pegasus.

The Department/School will make a decision on your application – we try to do this as quickly as possible, usually around 10 working days (two weeks) but at busy times it could be a little longer.

You’ll receive an email notifying you that a decision has been made and to login to your application portal to see the decision. If you have been made an offer you can respond to this in your application portal.

Although there are no formal closing date for postgraduate applications we advise you to contact the Department/School you are applying to directly to see if your course has an application deadline, or if you have any other questions about the course or your application.
