What you'll learn

This module is an introduction to programming in R. It begins by discussing how R can be used as a basic calculator before moving on to how functions can be used in order to improve statistical analyses. It then moves on to function building and using control statements.

The final sections introduce learners to the use of R’s Tidyverse to manipulate data. The module is completed by discussing data visualisation using R’s base plotting package for quick and easy visualisation and ggplot2’s grammar of graphics.

This module will be delivered in a blended learning format across five weeks.

Who can apply?

This module is aimed who wish to learn how to manipulate and analyse data in R.

Fully funded places are available for this module supported by the Scottish Government and the Scottish Funding Council.

What will I get at the end of it?

This module is worth 10 credits at SCQF Level 7. You'll receive a formal University Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certificate when you complete the module.
