Name: Lindsey Whiteford

Job title: Technician, The Strathclyde Institute of Education

Lindsey's story

I am a technician within The Strathclyde Institute of Education, Humanities & Social Sciences Faculty, based in the James Weir Building. I have had various additional roles over the years, including Unite Branch secretary, member of the Wellbeing Volunteers team, Health and Safety Rep for Unite, member of Court, member of SACSOH and other external roles.

During my time as a union representative, I represented members with Dignity and Respect issues as well as grievances.

I know that anyone can experience inappropriate behaviour within a working environment and being able to give these people a voice, and supporting them to resolve any issues, is something that I am keen to do.
