Non UK undergraduate admissions

Below is a table listing the non-UK qualifications we see most often. The standard given is minimum entry requirements for the BA Honours Business degree course.

Applicants who are intending to apply to the Masters in International Business & Modern Languages must also include a pass equivalent to at least 60% in the language they wish to study. The languages offered are French and Spanish. If you're a native speaker of any of those languages, you'll not be allowed to include that language within your degree.

Applicants for the BA Honours Accounting degree will be asked for slightly higher than that given in the table and must include a pass in mathematics equivalent to a score of at least 60%.

Non-native English speakers will be asked for an English language qualification. Please see English language requirements below.

INTERNATIONAL ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

GHANA
Students from Ghana are admitted with a range of qualifications: GCE A Levels, the IB, the American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s and other recognised qualifications.
Applicants with either the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) or the Nigerian Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate will usually be required to complete a Foundation Year.

KENYA
Students from Kenya are admitted with a range of qualifications: GCE A Levels, the IB, the American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s and other recognised qualifications.
Applicants with the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) will usually be required to complete a Foundation Year.

NIGERIA
Students from Nigeria are admitted with a range of qualifications: GCE A Levels, the IB, the American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s and other recognised qualifications.
Applicants with either the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) or the Nigerian Examinations Council (NECO) Senior School Certificate will usually be required to complete a Foundation Year.

SOUTH AFRICA
Average of 6 (70%) in at least four NSC subjects including Mathematics and English at Grade 12 national certificate.

TANZANIA
Students from Tanzania are admitted with a range of qualifications: GCE A Levels, the IB, the American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s and other recognised qualifications.
Applicants with either the Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) will usually be required to complete a Foundation Year.

UGANDA
Students from Uganda are admitted with a range of qualifications: GCE A Levels, the IB, the American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s and other recognised qualifications.
Applicants with either the other qualifications will usually be required to complete a Foundation Year.

ZIMBABWE
Students from Zimbabwe are admitted with a range of qualifications: GCE A Levels, the IB, the American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s and other recognised qualifications.
Applicants with either the other qualifications will usually be required to complete a Foundation Year.

OTHER COUNTRIES
Students from Botswana, Cameroon, Egypt, Ethiopia, Malawi, Namibia, Rwanda, Zambia and all other African Countries are admitted with a range of qualifications: GCE A Levels, the IB, the American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s and other recognised qualifications.
Applicants with either the other qualifications will usually be required to complete a Foundation Year.

BRAZIL
Students from Brazil are admitted with a range of qualifications: GCE A Levels, the IB, the American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s and other recognised qualifications.
Applicants with either the other qualifications will usually be required to complete a Foundation Year.

CANADA
Alberta: High School with 5 grade 12 passes at 75% including English and Mathematics.
British Columbia: Certificate of Graduation with five grade 12 subjects at 80%.
Manitoba: High School Graduation Diploma with at least five 40S courses at 80%.
Nova Scotia: High School Diploma with at least give grade 12 subjects at 80%.
Ontario: Secondary School Diploma with six 4M/U courses at 80% (with no more than two 4M courses).
Quebec: Diplome D’Etudes Collegiales (DEC) with an overall average of 75%.

MEXICO
Successful completion of the Mexico-Bachillerato with an Average of 8.

USA
Students require successful completion of the High School Diploma, plus one of the following:
Old SAT: 1800 (600+ in Critical Reading, Mathematics, Writing) or New SAT: 1200 (600+ in Evidence Based Reading & Writing & Maths) or ACT: 27
AND
Two AP examinations (in relevant subjects) at 4+ or two SAT subject tests (in relevant subjects) 600+
OR
Three AP examinations (in relevant subjects) 4+ or three SAT subject tests (in relevant subjects) 600+
A combination of AP and SAT subject tests are acceptable provided they are in different subjects.

OTHER COUNTRIES
Students from Argentina, Belize, Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Hondouras, Jamaica, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay Peru, Trinidad & Tobago, Uruguay, Venezuela and West Indies & Caribbean are admitted with a range of qualifications: GCE A Levels, the IB, the American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s and other recognised qualifications.
Applicants with either the other qualifications will usually be required to complete a Foundation Year.

EAST ASIA

CHINA
Successful completion of Senior High School Diploma at 80%.

HONG KONG
Successful completion of the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education with scores of 4 or Higher in 3 subjects, to include Mathematics.

OTHER COUNTRIES
Students from Japan, South Korea and Taiwan are admitted with a range of qualifications: GCE A Levels, the IB, the American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s and other recognised qualifications.
Applicants with either the other qualifications will usually be required to complete a Foundation Year.

SOUTHEAST ASIA

MALAYSIA
Successful completion of the UEC with an overall score of at least B.

SINGAPORE
Singapore GCE O Levels A1-C6 in lieu of GCSE grades; Singapore GCE A Levels 2 H2s and 2 H1s all at the same sitting. (H2 = A Level; H1 = AS Level)

THAILAND
Applications from Thailand may be considered where evidence of passes at over 50%.

OTHER COUNTRIES
Students from Indonesia, Philippines and Vietnam are admitted with a range of qualifications: GCE A Levels, the IB, the American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s and other recognised qualifications.
Applicants with either the other qualifications will usually be required to complete a Foundation Year.

SOUTH ASIA

INDIA
BSE All Inida Senior School Certificate Examination (SSC), Standard XII with an overall score of 80% with three subjects at 75%.

SRI LANKA
Applicants are accepted who have taken the Sri Lankan General Cerfiticate of Education (Advanced Level) offers will generally be equivalent to the A-Level requirements.

OTHER COUNTRIES
Students from Bangladesh, Pakistan and the Maldives are admitted with a range of qualifications: GCE A Levels, the IB, the American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s and other recognised qualifications.
Applicants with either the other qualifications will usually be required to complete a Foundation Year.

CENTRAL AND WEST ASIA
Students from Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, are admitted with a range of qualifications: GCE A Levels, the IB, the American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s and other recognised qualifications.
Applicants with a Certificate of Secondary Education will usually be required to complete a Foundation Year.

AUSTRALASIA

AUSTRALIA
Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia: ATAR of at least 92, and successful completion of Year 12 certificate.
South Australia: Successful completion of the SACE with TER of 85%.
Queensland: Overall position of 4 or better and successful completion of Queensland Certificate of Education with passes in all subjects.

NEW ZEALAND
University Entrance Certificates with National Certificates in Educational Achievement Level 3 with 65 credits overall and merit passes in three subjects.

AUSTRIA
High School Qualifications (Austria-Reifeprufungszeugnis/Maturazeugnis) with grade 1 in all subjects.

BELGIUM
Award of Certificate d'Enseignement Secondaire Superieur / Diploma van Hoger Secundair Onderwijs / Abschlusszeugnis der Oberstufe des Sekundarunterrichts with at least grade 8.0 overall and minimum 8.5 in any required subjects.

BULGARIA
Average of 5.5 in Diploma Za Sredno Obrazovanie with a score of 5.5 in Mathematics.

CROATIA
Award of State Matura (Drzavna matura) with an overall average of 4.5.

CYPRUS
Award of Apolytition with an overall score of 19 plus two A Levels at AB.

CZECH REPUBLIC
Award of Maturitni Zkouska with 1 in all required subjects (mathematics) and 2 in remaining subjects.

DENMARK
Studentereksamen or Hǿjere Forberedelseseks amen with an overall score of 10.0 including in Mathematics.

ESTONIA
Award of Gumnaasiumi Ioputunnistus (Secondary School Leaving Certificate) with grade 5 overall and at least 80% in a minimum of 3 Riigieksamitunnistus (State Examinations) and grade 4 in two School Examinations, Mathematics to be included.

FINLAND
Ylioppilastutkintodistus (Certificate of the Matriculation Exam) with L (Grade 7) in two subjects and E (grade 6 in all other subjects).

FRANCE
Overall score of 15/20 in French Baccalaureate with 14 in three subjects including Mathematics.
Overall score of 15/20 in Option International Baccalaureate with 14 in three subjects including Mathematics.

GERMANY
Overall score of 1.7 in Abitur including 12 or better in four subjects including Mathematics.

GREECE/CYPRUS – ACCOUNTING
Overall score of 19/20 in Apolytirion to include Mathematics
or
Overall score of 18/20 in Apolytirion plus A Levels at AA (including Mathematics).

GREECE/CYPRUS – BUSINESS/IB/IBML
Overall score of 18.50 in Apolytirion
Qualification in the language required for the MIBML degree programme
or
Overall score of 18/20 in Apolytirion to include Mathematics plus A Levels at AA (Qualification in the language required for the MIBML degree programme).

HUNGARY
Erettsegi Vizsga with Grade 5 in three higher level subjects and grade 5 in two standard level subjects.

IRELAND
Irish Leaving Certificate with three H2 passes and three H3 passes. Must include English and Mathematics

ITALY
Diploma Di Esame Di Stato at 90% to include Mathematics.

LATVIA
Award of Atestats par visparejo videjo izglitibu with an average grade of 9 plus three state examinations at 80% and one further state examination at 65% to include Mathematics.

LITHUANIA
Award of Brandos Atestatas with grade 9 in each school exam subject and 90% in at least three state exam subjects including Mathematics.

LUXEMBOURG
Overall score of 48 in Luxembourg Diplome De Fin d’Etudes. Mathematics to be included.

MALTA
Award of the Matriculation Certificate (MATSEC) with grades AA at Advanced Level and BBB at Intermediate Level.

THE NETHERLANDS
Diploma VWO with grade 8 overall and 887 in three subjects.

NORWAY
Vitnemål fra den Videregående Skole with an overall average of 4.5.

POLAND
Award of Matura with a minimum of 80% in all Standard Level Subjects and in three Extended Level Subjects.

PORTUGAL
Overall score of 18 in Diploma de Ensino Secundário/Certificado to include 18 in at three subjects to include Mathematics.

ROMANIA
Overall score of 9.0 in Romanian Baccalaureate with a minimum of 9.5 in individual subjects. Mathematics to be included.

SLOVAKIA
Maturitna Skuska/Maturita with grade 2 in four subjects and 90% minimum in each external exam.

SLOVENIA
Award of Spricevalo with 30 points with grade 5 in Mathematics and 4 in all other subjects including Mathematics.

SPAIN
Titulo de Bachiller and Prueba de Accesco with 8.5 overall and 8.5 in at least three subjects.

SWEDEN
5 passes at B in Fullstandigt Slubetyg fran Gymnasieskoan with AB in required subjects of Mathematics and English.

EGYPT
Students from Egypt are admitted with a range of qualifications: GCE A Levels, the IB, the American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s and other recognised qualifications.
Applicants with Certificates of Secondary Education will usually be required to complete a Foundation Year.

ISRAEL
Successful completion of the Bagrut with 8/10 in each subject undertaken.

OMAN
Students are admitted with a range of qualifications: GCE A Levels, the IB, the American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s and other recognised qualifications.
Applicants with the Thanawiya amma will usually be required to complete a Foundation year.

QATAR - SAUDI ARABIA – UAE
Students are admitted with a range of qualifications: GCE A Levels, the IB, the American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s and other recognised qualifications.
Applicants with a Certificate of Higher Education will usually be required to complete a Foundation year.

TURKEY
Successful completion of the Turkey-Lise Bitirme Diplomasi with an overall average of 80%. Plus IELTS at 6.5 (no individual test score below 5.5).

OTHER COUNTRIES
Students from Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Palestinian Territories, Syria and Yemen are admitted with a range of qualifications: GCE A Levels, the IB, the American High School Diploma with SAT’s or AP’s and other recognised qualifications.
Applicants with either the other qualifications will usually be required to complete a Foundation Year.

A LEVEL ACCOUNTING – Year 1
AAA – AAB to include Mathematics –GCSE English and Maths at B.

A LEVEL – BUSINESS/IB Year 1
ABB – BBB plus GCSE Maths and English at B.

A LEVEL – MIBML Year 1
ABB - BBB to include language to be studied (French, Italian, Spanish) plus GCSE Maths and English at B.

BTEC
Successful completion of the BTEC Diploma with Triple Distinction.

HND – YEAR 1
Successful completion at first attempt plus Pass Graded Unit(s) at A.

HND – YEAR 2
Successful completion at first attempt plus Pass all graded units at A, plus two principal business subjects studied in depth.

FOUNDATION PROGRAMMES
Successful completion of the foundation programme with 60% overall average.

EUROPEAN BACCALAUREATE
Overall average of 85% in European Baccalaureate with a minimum score of 8.three written subjects to include Mathematics.

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE – ACCOUNTING
Standard Academic Entry requirements: 38 points overall; Minimum academic entry requirements 36 points overall with no subject below 5 to include English at SL5 and Maths at HL6.

INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE – BUSINESS/IB/MIBML/BBA
Standard Academic Entry requirements: 36 points overall; Minimum academic entry requirements 36 points overall with no subject below 5 to include English at SL5 and Maths at SL5 (for MIBML to include Language to be studied at HL5.

A pass in an English language qualification is normally required from applicants outside the UK whose first language is not English. The following provides information on the main qualifications considered for entry to the Business School undergraduate degree courses.

English Language Qualifications we accept:

IELTS for UKVI: Minimum overall band score of 6.5 (no individual test score below 5.5).

TOFEL iBT: Minimum requirements for B2 in each component are:
Listening – 17
Reading – 18
Speaking – 20
Writing - 19

Cambridge Certificate of Advanced English: Overall score of 176 or above, with a minimum of 162 in each component.

Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency: Overall score of 176 or above, with a minimum of 162 in each component.

GCSE/GCE O Level: English Language at grade B or 5.

All India Senior School Certificate Examination: English with 70% overall.

Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education: HKDSE English Level 4 (minimum 3 in each section).

International Baccalaureate: English at Standard Level 5 or above.
