Hospitality for those of all faiths and none

chaplaincy Our Chaplaincy Centre in John Street offers hospitality to those of all faiths and none. We come together in prayer, or just to eat, drink and be merry in the Ark Cafe. It is a place of acceptance and welcome where we can explore and question our beliefs in an atmosphere of respect and trust, and find creative ways of working together.

There are two full time chaplains - Marjory Macaskill, the University Chaplain, who is a church of Scotland Minister, and Brendan Slevin, the Catholic Chaplain. They are supported by several part-timers - Scottish Episcopal/Anglican, Free Church, Baptist, Methodist, United Reformed, International and Jewish. The Chaplaincy Centre can also put you in touch with representatives of other faith communities. Many societies use the Chaplaincy as their base, so on any night of the week you may find shared meals, bible study, video evenings, music, speakers, and more. All are welcome to use the Centre - feel free to drop in occasionally or make it your base.
