MOU signed with new international academic partner
The Department has recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Tianjin Normal University (TJNU), China.
The MOU came about following a very successful visit to the Department by TJNU delegates. The delegation included:
- Professor Qilian Liang, Dean of Engineering
- Professor Baoju Zhang, Dean, College of Electronic and Communications
- Dr Xiaorong Wu, Director of Research
The visit, coordinated by Professors Tariq Durrani and Stephen Lo, together with Dr Scott Strachan, Dr Jianfeng Lu and Dr Igor Timoshkin, explored potential collaborative programmes in research and student articulation. Delegates were given an overview of the Department and Faculty by Professor Bob Stewart, Head of Department, and Professor Walter Johnstone, Vice Dean, Faculty of Engineering. They then visited the University’s Technology & Innovation Centre and met with several PhD researchers to discuss their current research activities.
A visit to TJNU is planned for November, to support and develop this new collaboration.
