Faculty of EngineeringWorking with industry

Strong links with industry partners is one of our key strengths; these relationships have a major influence on both our research programmes and taught courses, keeping our academic staff and students at the forefront of engineering.

This contact with industry ensures we equip our students with relevant skills which will lead them to a successful career.

This relationship is also of benefit to our industry partners as we can provide services and training, sharing our own knowledge and skills to strengthen their business.

We can provide key knowledge and skills to businesses to help meet your business objectives, whether you’re from a large organisation, an SME, a charity or even a government organisation.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

We offer an extensive portfolio of CPD programmes, ranging from one-day workshops through to modules contributing to a full MSc degree. Many of these programmes are developed with, and for, our industry partners.

Depending on your needs these can be delivered on campus through intensive teaching blocks, part-time or full-time study or via online or blended learning.

As well as delivering existing CPD programmes, we’re happy to work with you to discuss opportunities to provide new programmes tailored to suit your organisation’s needs.

Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTPs)

KTPs are at the heart of our industrial engagement strategy. Our staff are committed to building and running KTP projects which exploit their expertise and our equipment capabilities. These are done in partnership, meeting the business and technical needs of industry. KTPs can improve your company’s competitiveness and productivity.
