Strathclyde Law Student wins Scholarship to Study in New York

Current Strathclyde 4th year LLB (Hons) student Thomas Jordan has just been accepted into a highly competitive LLM programme at the St John’s University School of Law in New York.   Based on his existing work in law, Thomas has been awarded a $20,000 scholarship by St John’s to support his studies there.  Thomas has applied for further funding to help him undertake the LLM in New York as he is determined to take up this wonderful international opportunity with the ultimate aim of taking the New York Bar Exam and practising law there.

Thomas is particularly grateful to the Strathclyde Law School and University for supporting an earlier trip he made to Chicago, where he studied Law for four months and was inspired to consider practising in New York. Acting Head of the Law School, Professor Nicole Busby, said:

Thomas’s story shows the great opportunities that exist for our Law students. His hard work and determination coupled with the possibilities offered by the Law School for international exchanges with our partner institutions have led Thomas towards an exciting future. I would like to congratulate him and to wish him all the best in his studies.
