Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre

Established in 1997, The Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre (UTC) in Electrical Power Systems is responsible for the research and development of effective electrical power system solutions. It also aims to provide Rolls-Royce with strategic and applied research to support aero, marine energy, and electrical activities.

Network design and optimisation, electrical system operation and management, power system protection and control, as well as the associated modelling and simulation, represent the main focus of the Centre’s research activities. Condition data interpretation methods and optical sensors for aero-engine monitoring are also being investigated.
