This is an information, advice and assistance service for disabled students, disabled applicants, and for University staff working with and for disabled students and applicants.

- Information and advice for disabled students and applicants.
- Assistance in accessing the Disabled Students' Allowance or similar funds for equipment and other help needed for study.
- Liaison with other agencies who can provide the sorts of assistance students might need, such as Sign Language Interpretation, readers or sighted guides.
- Help with arranging assessments, such as dyslexia assessments, where these are needed to support applications for assistance.
- Support in setting up appropriate exam arrangements, where students might need, for example, additional writing time or rest breaks.
- Staff training and development sessions on making our University environment more friendly to disabled people.
- Assistance and advice to academic staff in developing equal access to all aspects of study for disabled students.
- Can assess student's assistive technology requirements.
- Can support student's with Disabled Students' Allowance (DSA) application submission.
- The Assistive Technology Advisers can help disabled students to choose, apply for and use Information Technology to support their study.
- The Service has equipment for students to try out. It also holds some items for lending to students.
