We work hard to provide a safe and secure environment for our students, and have over 90 trained and dedicated security service staff on hand to provide help and support 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
24-hour security services
There are security patrols circulating on both campuses at all times, and for added peace of mind there is a monitored CCTV system beamed back to University Security Control. The Security Control Booth for the John Anderson Campus is in the Livingstone Tower.
In an emergency
The 24-hour security team on each campus are all fully-trained first-aiders and should be your first call at any time of the day or night. If you need to reach Security, call:
- ext 3333 (from telephones in academic buildings on either campus)
- ext 8888 (from campus residences)
- 0141 548 3333 (from off-campus or mobile)
Be responsible
There are simple things you can do to protect yourself, such as not taking 'shortcuts' across campus or walking in poorly-lit areas after dark, carrying a personal alarm and reporting suspicious activities to the Security Services.
