1.1: Digital Campus

Our Digital Campus will create a fully integrated, equitable experience for our people and promote collaboration and innovation across the Strathclyde community through the use of technology to provide a secure, responsive and personalised environment.

We will achieve this by:

  • providing virtual mapping with tags (3D);
  • having location-specific information feeds in place;
  • monitoring and management of campus in real time;
  • offering flexibility and choice, enabling our people to study, work, collaborate and engage anywhere, anytime at a place and time of their choosing;
  • using technology to deliver a personalised learning experience.

We will use technology to facilitate and enhance the learning environment.

We will achieve this by:

  • delivering a suite of high-quality learning technologies;

  • providing our students with access to leading edge technology to support and enhance their learning;
  • building the capability of students for success in a digital age;
  • offering flexibility and choice of learning experiences.

Our on-line experience mirrors our on-campus experience and offers equitable and wide-reaching access to education at the students’ convenience.

We will achieve this by:

  • providing a full range of courses on-line;
  • facilitating Learning for Life through a range of online professional development and lifelong learning courses;
  • offering modular courses to support the aggregation of micro-credentials;
  • creating the infrastructure, resources and skills to facilitate a fully integrated online experience.

1.4: Enhanced Student Experience

Our technology facilitates an outstanding, user centric Strathclyde student experience.

Courses will be tailored to individual needs, with easy application processes, pastoral care – wellbeing, safety, counselling services, communications, social life, vibrant online community, individualised experience, integration of systems – making our digital services easy to access.

We will achieve this by:

  • digitally enabling pastoral care to complement our in-person support activities;
  • having a single entry point to personalised systems and services;
  • enhancing engagement with potential and existing students;
  • making it easy for people to do what they need to do.

1.5: Digital Resources

Students, staff and partners have on-demand access to digital and digitised resources to meet
their needs.

We will achieve this by:

  • utilisation of the Strathclyde App;
  • improving access to our Digital Archives;
  • providing 24/7 access 365 days of the year to digital resources;
  • digitising information and archives to maximise online use of the Library;
  • having digital wayfinding on campus.
