Site Licensed Software

main content

The University holds site licences for several software packages. In many cases the University has paid a single fee to cover use of the package on University owned or leased equipment by both staff and students. In some cases the licence covers use by staff and students on either their own or University owned equipment both on and off campus. Other software has been made available through special educational discounts for volume purchases.

Please note that the software is not free and you don't own the copy of the software you are running. You should not make any unauthorised copies of site licenced software and normally any personal copies of software will be required to be removed from your machine when you leave the University.

For staff, details of packages available are under the IT Services menu group on the Administration tab in Pegasus.

For students, the link is within the Additional Services group on the Services tab in Pegasus.

For general software information please look on our main software supplier's website.

Any request for a University site-licence to be purchased for a software package, will be considered if it reaches the following criteria:

  • Cross faculty use
  • Number of users/faculties currently using software
  • Cost of site-licence
  • Software comparison with software currently available via Pegasus

Please download the Software License Proposal Form, complete and submit to the Helpdesk
