International Student Support Team

main content

The International Student Support Team offers guidance and information to all international students, especially those that concern welfare, immigration and personal issues.  We also act as a point of contact to other support services.

Where are we?

We are located on Level 1 of the McCance Building in MC1.41 and are open on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday  between 10am and 4pm.

Make an appointment

University of Strathclyde EU and International students can access general over-the-counter information on a number of matters - however we cannot answer complex enquiries over the counter and you should make a one-to-one appointment with an International Student Adviser.

We operate an appointment booking system where you can book yourself a 30 minute appointment with an adviser – please see http://theadvicecentre.simplybook.me.

Before booking an appointment for a visa extension, please ensure you follow the instructions on this webpage.

General Enquiries

We are open between 10am and 4pm Monday, Wednesday to Friday for general enquiries.  Alternatively you can call us 0141 548 4273.

Request a CAS for Visa Extensions

If you are commencing a new course of study your CAS will be issued by the Admissions Team admissions@strath.ac.uk

I am a current student and I need to make a Tier 4 Visa Extension application, how do I request my CAS?

For students requiring more time to complete their course.  To request your CAS you will need to provide some documents to the International Student Support Team.  You should have your supervisor complete a CAS request form (for full details please see here) this along with a copy of your passport and current visa should be sent via email to infoandadvice@strath.ac.uk with the subject heading 'CAS request'.

Contact us

By email:  Students can contact us via the general team email - infoandadvice@strath.ac.uk - or if your enquiry is specific to your Tier 4 visa then we have a dedicated Tier 4 email - tier4@strath.ac.uk. Please make sure you include your registration number in your email if you are a registered student. We will endeavour to respond to your email within 4 working days.

By phone:  You can call us on 0141 548 4273 to make an initial enquiry, however, you may be asked to see us in person either at our enquiry desk or at a pre-arranged appointment.  Telephone lines are staffed from 9am-5pm Monday to Friday.

In order for you to connect you with the correct service who can answer your enquiry, you may wish to contact them directly by prefixing their number with 0141 548 then the extension number.  Some common enquiries are listed below:
