My background
Prior to the MSc Innovation & Marketing Management, I worked as an intern in a leading fashion house in New Delhi and was involved in the advertising and marketing aspects of the operations at national and international level.
My academic background in undergraduate studies is a BSc Fashion Communication from Amity University, one of the leading universities in India. Subsequent to this I was selected by the academic council of the University to join for my MBA degree in Fashion Management which I completed with distinction.
My experience of the course
My experience at Strathclyde can be summarised as simply superlative. The lecturers are highly competent and their domain knowledge is so deep that it appears bottomless. The lecturers are patient with us and hold our hands when we are confused and show us the right path. The best part is that my lecturers do not stifle our creativity and allow it to bloom and grow.
The subject content is well-thought-out and encompasses all aspects of marketing. I feel that this course has made me into a competent professional who can enter the world with my head held high, backed by the superb practical hands-on skills imparted to me by my lecturers at Strathclyde.
During the pandemic, the University administration rose to the challenge to manage the academic atmosphere. They ensured that all examinations were held in a befitting manner, with absolutely no hassle. This speaks volumes about the management skills of the administrative staff. The sensitive handling of student issues and of virtual and online classes is praiseworthy. An example of great leadership shown by the Academic Council of Strathclyde, that gives a sterling example for others to emulate.
This course is so forward-looking that I feel that it will remain relevant for a long time to come.
Being a student at Strathclyde
The University has a very helpful Student Union community and numerous societies. The huge library is well stocked and the gym at Strathclyde Sport is world-class. The University is centrally located and many shopping centres and parks are accessible to students.
At Strathclyde, I was exposed to an international atmosphere imbibed with the best of Scottish ethics and hospitality. I have fallen in love with the University and the city of Glasgow. Strathclyde has instilled a deep sense of loyalty in me and I would like to join the research and teaching faculty at the University.
Advice to new students
Follow your heart and you will achieve your dreams. Winners don’t do different things; they do things differently!!
Glasgow will grow on you and Strathclyde will enter your soul, as you will see first-hand the Scottish sincerity, that will stand with you in good stead in all your endeavours in life. This University will change your outlook towards life. Enjoy the atmosphere and enjoy the academic excellence of this great university. My salute to this great faculty and university. Every brick and every stone of this hallowed institution speaks volumes about the rich academic history and the joy of each and every student that has passed its portals.
