Strathclyde Architecture International School

20 students and 4 staff from the College of Architecture, Inner Mongolia University of Technology, came to our Department for two weeks of intensive study.

They explored Glasgow, and engaged with Architects from our Studio Tutoring Team in a series of workshops, before moving out into rural Scotland for a 3 day live build project ending with a traditional Scottish ceilidh.

Students Andrea Hickey and Neal Hemingway created ChalkTalk for their Masters project, to encourage discussion, debate and stories about architecture and design within the city.

Designed, fabricated and constructed by our students in less than 4 weeks, ChalkTalk became the surprise success of the Merchant City Festival 2015.

Future Architecture Workshop: Merchant City Festival 2015

We invited prospective students of architecture to participate in a day long workshop as part of this year's Merchant City Festival.

The workshop used Architecture Studios and the ChalkTalk Pavilion created by two of our Masters students, to host discussions and creative sessions. Participants explored our city, seeking out and recording examples of five 'city themes'.
