Hong Kong

Arriving in Hong Kong was strange! We felt like we were in a mix of both China and Scotland, everything was so Chinese but so Scottish? There was loads of Scottish shops like Marks and Spencer, the road signs were the same and we drove on the left. On the bus to our hotel it was quite surreal.

Our hotel was called the micro hotel and it was indeed micro. Our room was only a few square feet and the bed was slotted perfectly in it was so small. Even our toilet was just a tiny square! The novelty soon wore out and we were quite crammed at night but it was still fun anyway!

We only spent two nights in Hong Kong but whilst we were there we took a ferry to the Island part of Hong Kong and explored some of the parks there, that night we went to a restaurant where we all tried truffle for the first time! We were feeling quite fancy!

Afterwards we went to the fair and enjoyed the ferris wheel then took a return ferry and explored the night market and bought matching ‘Bruce Lee is my Homeboy’ T-shirts and had delicious crepes!

Our stay in Hong Kong was short but I would for sure go back to explore some more! We then took a night bus to Guilin which ended up breaking down in the middle of nowhere at 2am, we then had to walk to a police station where they gave us warm water and noodles. They then decided to let us back on the bus to sleep until a replacement bus would take us the rest of the way in the morning.
