Adventures in finding the post office

3 Months in! So we have all now been living in China for 3 months, since day one it has been so busy and hectic, I think it's good to sit down and think about how much has changed over the time we've been living here. When we first arrived in China everything was so unfamiliar and scary, I didn't know anyone very well and didn't even know where the nearest shop was. Compared to now, all the once unfamiliar faces are now my closest friends and the places that were so new to me are now where we all have the best times together! Moving here was a really nerve racking experience for me, but the nerves and hard days have been so worth it, now we all feel comfortable living here.

At times living in China can be difficult because I do miss my family but one of the things that I really enjoy doing is keeping in touch with people from home. Nowadays everyone can keep in touch over the phone, however I've really liked writing letters and sending post cards, although it can be a bit of an adventure going to the Chinese post office!! I went to look for the post office but couldn't seem to find it anywhere, so I approached a Chinese lady in the street and asked for some help! I must of asked the only person in Tianjin with a worse sense of direction than mine, and mines is pretty bad! The Chinese people are so helpful, the lady walked for 20 minutes with me (round in circles) until we found the post office (which was pretty much where we started). After walking with me for 20 minutes while I tried to chat with her in Chinese she decided to come to the post office with me and help send my post cards home. This was so nice of her and makes me feel so welcomed in a place that couldn't be further from my home. So fingers crossed that my post cards make it to my family for Christmas.

During the adventure trying to find the post office I used some Chinese I learned at university.
