Anyway, anyhow, anywhere

This is an embarrassing story…

A few friends and I had an idea, that during the October break, we should go to a house in the countryside and see some of the more rural areas of Beijing province. Long story short the owners of the place we had booked had given us an incorrect address and we were in the middle of nowhere. This ended up for the best, because the middle of nowhere is very beautiful. The kindness of strangers really helped us, as we managed to navigate to a cheap hotel for the night (accompanied by a lovely dinner) and didn’t have to camp (as I feared). In the morning we were able to get up (with help from a rooster) and climb the nearby mountain for some amazing views. We were home later that day, and had a well-earned rest.

More recently, I had the pleasure of attending the St. Andrews ball, an event for Scottish people living in China. There I met the Representative of Scottish Government in China, who was a very down to earth guy. Goes to show that no matter where you go, a Scottish guy is a Scottish guy.

Well, study is a’calling, so until next time, !
