Back to class I go

I'm just back from my holidays, which was an amazing two months but now it's time to knuckle down once more in class.

Last term I was in 初级二班 which is the second class up in the beginner classes. This term I've decided to jump up 3 classes and challenge myself by going to 终极一班 which is the first class of the intermediate level classes. This means new class mates and new teachers! One of our teachers called Wang is the nicest person I've ever met. She lived a lot of her life in Portugal so can speak fluently to the Portuguese people in the class. She can also speak a bit of Japanese which helps the Japanese students. The English speakers however...well we sit there confused!

For the first time since I've gone to classes the reading class is split into two different types of classes. One is intensive reading which is grammar and vocabulary, while extensive reading is reading texts with questions. It might sound boring but it's actually very interesting. We’ve read texts on fashion, Chinese veterans and a magic cleaning scarf (one of my personal favourites).

In other news me and my language buddy went to a cat cafe near to my campus. Now knowing that I have had a few allergic reactions to cats and dogs I was slightly anxious. I made sure to take allergy medication and we were on our way. The cafe was very nice but the cats didn’t want to come anywhere near us. They kept running behind us then running away as soon as we looked round. I’m a big cat fan and prefer cats to dogs.

As you can probably tell this month has been quiet but the next couple of months will be much busier.
