February Travels

Scotland in February isn’t normally full of much excitement but this February definitely wasn’t normal for me. I had only 3 weeks in Scotland to spend time with my friends and family so I tried my best to make it worth it. I travelled to different cities to see my friends and their new lives, being surrounded by a different environment and different people - just like me. I also spent so much time with all my family, even recreating Christmas which really made up for the time I had been in China.

Above all the initial reasons for coming I home I managed to visit my old work place and get a few shifts to help sustain my time home without relying on parents.

I also visited my old high school - gaining experience spectating interviews and also meeting all my teachers. It was inspiring to see the changes and the positive impact they have made.

I was delighted to be invited to the Culross Primary Hub opening on Tuesday 13th February to take part in the ceremony but also see the progress and hard work put in by everyone. The ceremony went very well and afterwards we even got to enjoy some Chinese tea and fortune cookies.

After visiting home, I was only in China a few days before heading off to Thailand to have a scholars' reunion as most scholars planned to be in Thailand at the same time. We branched off into different groups and I went to Bangkok, Phuket and the island Ko Phi Phi. It was another unbelievable time to relax on the golden beaches, learn about another culture and capture the beautiful scenery.

Luckily we were in the capital, Bangkok for Buddha day and participated in a ceremony with thousands of people and monks.

I am very honoured to be paired with such an inspiring school- I hope we can continue to share our knowledge and experiences.
