你好 from Tianjin

你好(Hello) boys and girls. I have now been in 天津,中国(Tianjin, Chinafor 4 weeks and I have settled in very well. After a long 16 hour plane journey and a 4 hour bus journey, we arrived at 天津师范大学(Tianjin Normal University. From my dorm room I can see the Tianjin TV tower, which is the 8th largest in the world.

The city is constantly on the go with 15 million residents. We have all made many 中国朋友(Chinese friends) and explored the city’s many sights. The city has a very expansive 地铁(subwaywhich makes exploring the city very easy.

To answer some of your questions:

There are many western restaurants in China but they are very expensive. In China, Big Mac is called a 巨无霸but Chinese food is much tastier. My favourite Chinese dish is 兰州拉面.

I have yet to see any martial arts since I have arrived but tai chi is very popular. Every evening, you can find groups of women practising tai chi to music.

I hope to hear from you.
