Flying back to 中国

This month continued the way January ended. I enjoyed being able to spend time with my family, friends and appreciating everything I had missed. On the 15th of February we went to a Chinese performance event in Edinburgh to celebrate Chinese New Year. My family and boyfriend came along and it was just like the shows I had seen in China so it was a great way to show them part of the culture.

After 5 weeks of being at home with my family it was time to go back to China. Having to say goodbye was very upsetting so I was quite emotional going through the airport. After sitting down for 10 minutes and calming down I knew the worst part was over. Or so I thought…

As I was eating what I thought was going to be my last British meal I looked at the screen and it announced my flight had been delayed by two hours, not the end of the world but a little bit annoying. I sat for an hour constantly checking the screen to look for any changes, as I did a new alert came up saying it had been delayed by four hours. My mum kindly booked me into a lounge to help the time pass a little quicker. When I was sitting in the lounge my mum called and said they had received a text message from the flight company saying it had further delays till midnight.

After even more delays and a few tears, I requested to change my flight to a week’s time. After spending the day in Edinburgh airport, I was very glad to be going home and seeing my family again. Even thought it was only an extra week in Scotland it made the world of a difference. I felt much more prepared the next week and it was easier saying bye. This trip was a lot smoother and I got through the airport with no trouble and my plane took off in time! My time in Scotland was very special and something I needed. Here are some photos from my time in Scotland.
