Family in China

I was lucky enough to have my family come to visit me in China for just over two weeks. I was very excited to see them. Their plane arrived in Beijing at 5am so I had a sleepover in the airport. It was a long night but I put Friends on and tried to pass the time. I was so happy to see them safe and sound in China, finally. We then made our way to the subways to get to the speed train to get back to Tianjin. They loved the speed train and subways, but were very tired from their journey. Once we got back to Tianjin we got settled down and all ended up going for a nap. The first night we decided to go to the food court and get some noodles, and their chopstick skills were surprisingly not too bad. My mum was very surprised at the price of everything, we had 4 bowls of noodles and 3 drinks for £4.50. It felt surreal taking them to the food court after talking about it for so long and telling them all about it.

Our next few days were spent browsing Tianjin and exploring lots of different areas. Luckily the weather had picked up when they were here so we didn't need to wrap up in 10 layers when we went outside. We also didn't live on a £4 budget a day so we could go to more expensive places and enjoy foreign food. They were all very surprised at how modern some parts of Tianjin are. After twelve days enjoying Tianjin we made our way to Beijing for a couple of days so they could see parts of that city too. We booked an apartment close to some tourist sites so we were walking distance away so and could walk through the city without having to take the subway or taxi. We had a few days to explore Beijing and got to enjoy things like a bath again! We had an amazing time in Beijing and I loved being able to get away from Tianjin for a few days and explore somewhere new. I'm so grateful that my family were able to visit and see China, it made these last few months here a lot easier knowing they would be here.
