To mark the first day of the 16th Conference of Youth (COY16), we warmly invite you to attend a special Strathclyde Centre for Environmental Law and Governance (SCELG) seminar on Global South Youth Climate Participation with Ayah Abdouny (Asia Pacific Young Greens Network), Anika Dorothy (Green Congress of Kenya) Jung Lin (Taiwan Young Greens) Janmejai Tiwari (Global Young Greens) and Rand Zein (Researcher, University of Salzburg).

The Youth climate movement receives increasing media coverage as the climate crisis worsens and young people are seeking increased climate action and ambition from global leaders. However, the work and experiences of young environmentalists in the Global South often do not receive the same attention as their Global North counterparts, despite their lived experience of climate change and the significant role they can play in addressing the climate crisis. In this event, Young Climate Leaders from Lebanon, Kenya, India, Taiwan and Lebanon will be talking about fair and effective climate decision making, sharing insight from their respective countries and extensive experience ahead of COP26, including their barriers in accessing COP26/COY16 and their expectations for the conference.
