
Strathclyde Online Learning Upskilling @ Strathclyde
Upskilling @ Strathclyde delivers a range of short and flexible modules developed across disciplines.
Funded by the Scottish Government and Scottish Funding Council (SFC), we offer a range of modules designed to provide more agile support for both employers and employees to upskill and reskill, increasing the provision of in-work learning using flexible models of delivery.
Who is eligible to apply?
Courses are is open to all Scottish-domiciled/'home fee' students, which is consistent with SFC’s policy for core funded student places. The rules for this are complex, but in general you are eligible for funding if:
- you are have ‘settled status’ in Scotland (ie you are not subject to any restriction on the period for which you may remain here)
- you are normally resident in Scotland (unless you are only in Scotland to study and otherwise would be living elsewhere)
- you have been normally resident in the United Kingdom for the last 3 years immediately preceding the course date.

Currently, the majority are available to study online, these modules are credit-bearing and learners will receive an e-certificate upon completion.

New suite of Employability modules launched
The Centre for Life Long Learning has launched three new modules to support adults who may be looking to re-enter the workforce, are facing redundancy or are considering a career change and are keen to develop transferable skills for work.
Strathclyde praised for supporting Maths teachers
During parliamentary questions on 18 March 2021, Deputy First Minister John Swinney MSP acknowledged the upskilling training Strathclyde has developed to help support teachers for the new Higher Applications of Mathematics course.
