Target Audience

The severity and decreasing timescale of the climate emergency is recognised by Governments, Businesses and citizens worldwide, but what remains elusive is the effective, systems level change required to address it. This course aims to build the knowledge, skills and motivation required to take meaningful action on climate change. In doing so it seeks to ensure graduates understand and advocate the need for systems level change, and are capable of driving climate change action through their workplace and other organisational settings. These skills and characteristics are becoming essential for supervisory, management or directorial roles, whether as part of paid or voluntary work.

Fee 


£1250 per person, for eligible participants upskilling modules can be subsidised by the Scottish Government and the Scottish Funding Council (up to £600). A limited number of funded places are available to applicants living in Scotland. Early application is advised.

Participants are encouraged to apply in pairs or more from the same organisation.

What you will study and achieve

On completing this module, by understanding how take effective action on climate change, students will contribute to broader efforts to achieve greenhouse gas reduction targets, including those set by the Scottish Government to seeking a 76% reduction in net greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and becoming 100% (Net Zero) by 2045.

They will also contribute to action on SDG’s:
10 (Reducing Inequality)
12 (Responsible Production and Consumption) and
13 (Climate Action).

Credits and certification

A Masters’ level accredited course examining in detail how to develop and implement effective solutions at organisational level.

Successful completion leads to membership of the Climate Solutions Network and 10 academic credits.
