Dear student and colleague,
As we look forward to a new academic year, the University and StrathUnion have worked together to agree a partnership approach to keeping the Strathclyde community safe and secure.
As a socially progressive institution, the safety, health, wellbeing and peace of mind of the Strathclyde community is at the heart of everything we do. During the pandemic, we have established a wide range of safety measures across our campus and accommodation including the introduction of one-way navigation systems, enhanced cleaning, maximised ventilation, physical distancing and a requirement to wear face coverings indoors when required.
As we return more extensively to campus-based teaching through blended learning, feedback from our community indicates that safety remains a key priority. The University is carefully managing campus arrangements to support the safe return of our community and any subsequent transitions out of restrictions. To support our community and set clear expectations for on-campus activity, the University and Strath Union have developed the following behavioural guidance.
The Strathclyde learning community expects everyone to contribute to staying safe on campus and to behave in a responsible and respectful manner, independently of any changing of restrictions more widely.
While on campus, students, staff and visitors all agree:
- to maintain physical distancing and be respectful of the boundaries of others
- to pay attention to campus signage and follow the directions of University staff
- to wear a face covering when indoors where required unless medically exempt [1]
- to use the provided cleaning products in our work or study spaces and not move any furniture without permission
- to wash/sanitise our hands frequently
- to not come to campus if we are showing any symptoms of COVID-19 or are required to self isolate
