Radiation Safety

As the University’s Radiation Protection Officer, Richard is responsible for providing advice relating to both Ionising and Non-Ionising Radiations, delivery of Radiation Safety related training, investigating and reporting on all incidents involving all forms of radiation.

He liaises regularly with Departmental Radiation Protection Supervisors and other staff to help further improve the appreciation of radiation risk and the safety culture of the organisation. He works with departments on a variety of subjects and has routine contact with the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency and other external agencies to ensure the application of best practice.
