A ‘Human Rights-Based Approach’ to the Scottish COVID-19 public inquiry: Briefing paper published

The Centre for the Study of Human Rights is pleased to contribute to the establishment of a human rights-based Covid-19 public inquiry in Scotland by providing a briefing paper for the Scotland Branch of the Covid-19 Bereaved Families for Justice UK. The Scotland branch requested that the Centre provide them with a briefing on the key features of a human rights-based public inquiry. The briefing paper offers an outline of how the values and principles of a human rights-based approach may be applied to the Scottish Covid-19 inquiry and, specifically, to the development of its Terms of Reference.

This was a collaborative project with LLM Human Rights Law students.

The full briefing paper is available here.
