Destination Scotland
Come to study. Find Scotland.
From our home in the heart of Glasgow, Strathclyde is just a few hours (or less!) from some of Scotland's most scenic and historic locations.
From our capital city of Edinburgh to the famous Scottish Highlands, we've no shortage of places to explore. So pack a bag and get out there!
A warm welcome awaits, no matter the weather!
Scotland is renowned for its friendly people. No matter where you visit in the country, you're sure to feel at home.
Don't just take our word for it - Rebecca tells it better than we ever could!
It's easy for me to approach anyone and ask questions, even on the street. Sometimes even when you look confused on the way, someone will ask you, 'Are you alright? Do you need help? That's something really good. Strathclyde is a home away from home.

Did you know?
It's estimated that there were once up to 3,000 castles in Scotland. That's nearly one for every 100 square miles! How many can you see while studying at Strathclyde?
Highlands
With their misty valleys and dramatic mountains, our Highlands are a must-see experience during your studies.
The Highlands encompass much of the north of Scotland with so many places to visit. The nearest point is as close as a 30-minute train ride away.
Popular spots include Ben Nevis, Cairngorms National Park, Glen Coe, Loch Lomond and Loch Ness. The area is also steeped in history, which has left behind some of the most beautiful and romantic castles.
Take a trip on the Hogwarts Express
More famous as being the Hogwarts Express in the Harry Potter movies, The Jacobite steam train, is an 84-mile round trip that's breathtaking whether you're a fan of the movies or not!
Hunt for Nessie
Mystical Loch Ness is around three and a half hours' drive from our home in Glasgow, and likely needs no introduction. Containing more water than all the lakes in England and Wales combined, despite over 1,000 sightings, it's no wonder 'Nessie' proves so elusive!
The Islands
Scotland is home to some breathtaking islands - many of which have turquoise waters you'd expect from sunnier climes. From Arran to Harris, Orkney to Shetland, it's a must-do during your time at the University.
