Personal statement

Pablo joined the Law School in February 2022 as a Lecturer in Public Law.

His research focuses on non judicial mechanisms of constitutional and legal review, with a particular interest on constitutional select committees, parliamentary accountability and parliamentary scrutiny in the Covid pandemic context.

Previously, in 2021, he worked as a Research Associate at the COVID Review Observatory, a research project led by Professor Fiona de Londras, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, and based at Birmingham Law School. He was also a guest lecturer and tutor in Public Law at the University of Edinburgh (2020-21), a guest lecturer in Constitutional Law at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez (Chile) (2020-21), and a research assistant at the Edinburgh Centre for Constitutional Law at the University of Edinburgh (2020).

Before moving into academia, Pablo was a legal practitioner in Chile (2008-2014), where he worked as a governmental lawyer and an associate lawyer at a Law Firm.
