COVID-19 vaccinations

There are now more ways than ever to get your vaccine. You can register online or attend a local drop-in clinic.

COVID-19 testing

Lateral Flow Test kits are now freely available for home delivery or collection in the community. You should test regularly to help stop the spread of the virus.

Strathclyde face coverings can now be picked up at a number of collection points across campus.

All locations now have face coverings and a small supply of visors for those exempt from wearing face coverings, including:

  • TIC reception
  • Strathclyde Sport
  • Lateral Flow Test Collection Point in Livingstone Tower
  • Lord Todd (Todds Café)
  • Royal College (Caffeine Lab)
  • Sir William Duncan (Urban Bean)
  • Learning and Teaching (Level 3 Café)
  • Library (Flava2go)
  • Lord Hope (Aura)
  • Library

Dignity & respect

We’re committed to ensuring our University environment, both online and on-campus, is a warm and welcoming place where everyone feels safe and included.

We understand that the coronavirus outbreak is causing concern amongst our community and we wish to reassure you that we are closely monitoring the situation and adhering to all government advice in relation to it. 

We want to ensure that all our students feel safe, supported and valued and that they are treated with dignity and respect. If you have experienced, or are aware of any inappropriate behaviour, verbal or physical harassment against our students please notify us using Report & Support.

Mental health & wellbeing support

The University recognises that the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak will affect each of us in different ways and will present personal and health challenges to many. It can be normal to feel overwhelmed and anxious in this difficult situation.

The Disability & Wellbeing Service has collated a range of resources to help you support and maintain your own wellbeing during these times. Staff within the Service are also available to speak to students and offer support, having successfully transferred all services to video, telephone or email, allowing for greater flexibility and responsiveness. This includes a twilight service until 8pm Monday to Thursdays during term time. Over the longer term, we are keen to continue to offer a blend of appointments including face-to-face, video, telephone and email.

An Early Intervention Counselling Team has been appointed, enabling us to offer same day intake appointments to all students presenting with mental health and wellbeing issues.

A group wellbeing and therapy programme online for this semester has been introduced, including a range of options such as Mindfulness, 10 Keys to Happiness, Managing Stress and Anxiety.

The service has also been hosting a Wellness Wednesday Instagram takeover in which students can access hints, tips and advice on wellbeing as well as hosting twice daily Zoom drop-ins for students residing on campus to allow direct access to advice, information and support on mental health and wellbeing issues.

All students in self-isolation are being offered daily check-ins from staff member volunteers.

We are enhancing our provision for students residing in halls on and off campus to include named counsellors for each hall of residence with a direct referral process in place. This will encompass the availability of counselling provision seven days per week.

Our Students’ Union and academic departments have also been running a range of programmes to help create a sense of community, build peer support and promote health and wellbeing.

We will also shortly be launching an online wellbeing induction programme for all students.
